A setting of verses 1-3 and 9 of Psalm 141 (Coverdale version), with the first half of verse 4 used as an antiphon:
v1. Lord, I call upon thee, haste thee unto me : and consider my voice when I cry unto thee.
v2. Let my prayer be set forth in thy sight as the incense : and let the lifting up of my hands be an evening sacrifice.
v3. Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth : and keep the door of my lips.
v4 (used as the antiphon, repeated after each verses). O let not mine heart be inclined to any evil thing.
v9. But mine eyes look unto thee, O Lord God : in thee is my trust , O cast not out my soul.
In 1976 Tranchell produced a revised version in A minor version with the verses set for bass solo, the antiphon set for ATBrBB, and some minor changes to the organ part. We can make this version available on request.
