The Peter Tranchell Centenary Musical Soirée and Reception

26 November 2022, 18:30, St. Paul's Knightsbridge, London SW1X 8SH

It's all over!

The evening was a great success, both musically (thanks to the performers, who pulled out all the stops either literally or figuratively) and socially, with old Caian colleagues meeting for the first time in 50 or more years. We were also delighted to welcome a number of musicians with no direct links to Peter, and we hope they enjoyed the evening as much as those who were already familiar with Peter’s music.

'A magnificent concert and I hope the Foundation continues to thrive and encourage composers and performers.' Robert Fielding.

'A welcome reminder of Peter's particular genius which we all hope might become more widely recognised in the future.' Revd Canon Dr Nicholas Thistlethwaite

'A very special  evening with varied musical content including a beautiful new piece from Cheryl Frances Hoad, engaging prize-winning entries from the Organ Composition Competition and a varied selection of Peter Tranchell’s own music, all performed to a very high standard. Let’s hope this helps to get Peter’s music more widely known and appreciated. Congratulations, too, to all who made this such an outstanding occasion, both musically and socially.  Peter would have been thrilled.' Martin Neary
